The only thing that would have save you is a flop like 96Q or even AJQ, then he would have folded
I'm shocked that 52o is as good as 18%! I would have guessed much lower than that.

Oh Shay, here's your well-deserved hug ... Spaceboy turns and goes for an over-the-shoulder suplex, blocked by Shay! Shay hits with a pair of standing elbows... fireman's carry takeover, shoulders are down... Spaceboy kicks out at two!

I must say that Doyle Brunson wrote in his book back in 1975 (or 1977 maybe) that you should always play your suited connectors and even raise with it if they are 1-2 (like 78, 56 ... don't remember the term here)

Yes Gus is making a very regular use of it, but it was there way before him

The power of these hands it's the non ability for your opponent to read you!!! How can you put someone that raised 3x on 52?

And again Shay, I'm sorry and here's a big HUGH for ya!

Harsea has it dead on in my opinion. If you decide to reraise and he expects a bluff, the best play for him at that moment is to try and steal. Once you smooth call a $54 bet, he has to put you on a monster, so when that flop comes, you're done. As maniacal as it seemed, it's really not that horrible of a play. Had the flop been anything else, of course, you would have never known his hand. Better luck next time...

Maybe we can make a deal here. I will push next time for a hug this time.

I think what threw me was his reraise preflop with a low suited 2 gapper hand. If it had been true suited connectors, even low ones like 54s, I would have understood this better. I had this guy at 24/12. Evidently, I caught him on a day when he was experimenting with loosening up his preflop game.
