I Thought if well received I would write up one of these every 1-2 weeks:
Tells of a Live Cash Game Session #1
Every Tuesday and Thursday I attend a local 5/5 NLHE game that plays like 5-10 with average starting stacks of 1,000 - 1,500 USD. Yesterday I attended the game again. I average a profit of 600$ per session @ these games and have lost 1K in my worse session there. But I keep a book with my Live Play stats and my exact average profit is $585 USD per session. The group of players range from doctors, business owners, other card room operators, city officials ,etc. So I'm the "outcast" somewhat as I show up with a catchy shirt usually covered w/ rhinestones and wikked designs and a hat backwards
This session was very unique. I started with a small buy in of 700 USD. The 2nd hand I havbe Q5 in SB. The button raises to 30 and I call as per my history w/ this player. The flop comes Q54. I decide to check call it down as I know hes gonna fire every street. He bets 120 USD on flop..i call. Turn brings J with no flush draws and i check and he bets 210.. I call. River is 4.. which pairs the board and fks me if he has KK or AA. He gos all in..i call.. he flips over AA.. i get stacked! I had 400 USD more in pocket so I said fk it and rebuy.
I double up instantly as I hold Jd Js and hero call an all in when an Ah hits river.. opponents mucks and says NH.
Now at approx $840 USD I feel a tad better. I fold a few orbits and pick up KK. I limp UTG. As I suspected player on button pops it to 60$.. I re-raise to 160 USD and he shoves.. i call and win vs JJ.. double up again ..now @ $1,705 USD.. winning and losing small pots the next hour I finally get a good starting hyand of Jc Js I raise to 75$ and get re-raised to 200 USD so I call. Flop comes Jh Ad 4h My opponent bets out $200 USD. Usually I flat here, though as I thought this hand out i have the 2nd current nuts and if he has AA in the hole I am gona pay him and if hes on a draw i gotta just hope it misses or maybe run it twice. Therefore with him having 565 USD behind I ship all in. He tanks and shows Ah Kd ( we do this alot in underground games ..mainly to get a read.. in casinos this may be considered a "fold" fyi). I dont crack at all and don't answer his questions as I of course am praying for a call. After 3 minutes or so he calls and dosent runner runner me and i scoop the pot. I played another 3 orbits of folding and cashed out. I did so for $2,700 USD, which was refreshing considering my start to the session getting stacked for $700 USD.
This was such a odd and crazy session for me that I thought i would share it.
