All sorts of rumors that they may be opening back up to the US and various other surprises. I gotta say, I'd be thrilled if they reopened, I miss huge fields. I would definitely not hold my breath. It makes for great speculation knowing they are about to announce something.

Another rumor is that they announce their own version of Rush Poker today ... we'll see, was just a bit weird that they used twitter to tell ppl to watch the youtube channel (which does speak for an introduction video of "Rush Poker").

Or ... it is just a new TV campaign called "WeArePoker" as of right now

Update: new rake structure and they switch from dealt to weighted contributed, yet the rake in micro limits has been increased, is slightly lower in the mid stakes and does affect grinders the most that play towards Supernova Elite etc.

I think people are reading a lot into the recent DOJ announcement on their position regarding the Wire Act. It seems everyone thinks that this is a change in law that now makes online poker legal in the US.

I've tried to point out to people that this is an enforcement policy only, that the DOJ doesn't make law, can't change law, and can again reverse this enforcement policy under this or any future administrations. The DOJ has not dropped any of their cases against the three poker rooms under indictment now, would should tell you that nothing has changed regarding online poker.

Pokerstars specifically agreed not to serve the US, and to go back on that would only amp up their troubles. Until the DOJ announces they've dismissed all of these cases, I wouldn't expect anything to change.

Nevada is likely to press ahead with their plans for intrastate poker, but they still will need a way around the UIGEA to accomplish it. That is, unless the DOJ announces they aren't going to enforce that law anymore either.

It is funny though how most of the members on 2+2 call it a money grab, yet they have no idea how to run a business ... for me the changes are a logical result as part of the Black Friday aftermath and weighted contributed is the most common these days anyways.
