FUN! Sunday Night No-Limit Hold'em Mentor Games!

If there is interest, we are thinking about bringing back the Sunday Night No-Limit Hold'em Mentor games. I think they were great for new players and fun for more experienced players.

The basic spirit of these, originally written by Kellieintx, is repeated here:

"Please help by keeping these games friendly. Please no insulting specifc players and/or plays made by those who have sought help. They have asked for help for a reason, and lets keep ourself reminded that this game was designed specifically for them!! Players should be expected to make mistakes here. If you are not a mentor in the game, but you are playing, please HELP them by explaining your hand to them and why you played the way they played. Their mentor will be helping them as well. This should help that player even more. This is a friendly game. This is a learning game. Maybe by the fall, we can encourage more people to frequent all of our games, and give some of our mentors a run for their money! Good luck and most importantly, have fun!"

If we can get these games going again, please remember to turn auto muck off and show your hole cards (or state what they were if you miss the button) so everyone can learn.

We are sort of starting again here, so anyone interested in serving as a No-Limit Hold'em Mentor, this time around, please state that in this thread.

Also, anyone who thinks they could benefit from being a No-Limit Hold'em Student, please state that here so Mentors and Students can be matched up.

Personally, I always had fun in these games. I think bringing them back would be GREAT on many levels! Let's get these low buy-in, fun games going again!

I think that sounds great. I know I could use some mentoring, I know how to play the game, but not in a consistant and risk free way

I'm interested, but am starting with zero knowledge of poker, so am I too remedial of a student even for this? I would ask that Mmmmark be my mentor, but he has a terrible time keeping his mind on the subject. Perhaps one of you ladies? :+)

I will be happy to mentor on the Sundays I am home. How does this work? Coaching on yahoo I believe.

I would like to add one thing. These games were so much fun and relaxed. They were successful because every one who played was helpful and willing to teach or learn. If you want to play and have no intention of following this philosophy, then please don't.

All players should have their preferences set to turn AUTO-MUCK off and in mentor games we show what we had. (even bluffs)
