Some interesting things happen when huge stress happens to a person. I was filming one guy doing a tandem in MI. back in 87', we were jumping out of a Twin Otter @14,000', as he stood up for exit he grabbed the emergency door handle on the right side of the plane, I leaped towards the door to stop it but it was gone in a split second, the tandem student looked at the door then the handle he was holding and promptly threw it out the open door, then we proceded to exit out of the proper door. On landing I asked him why he threw the handle out the door and he said..."What door & what handle"...he had no recollection of it until I showed him the film of the whole deal, he was shocked!

Here's the best part, we looked for the door the rest of the day, a door alone was $14K, the handle $1500...to no avail. The next day two guys show up at the drop zone with the door, they said sitting in the yard that day watching skydivers, they thought someone forgot to open their parachute, drunk and scared to see what might be, they didn't go out to see what it was until the next day...I could just see them..."You go see".....NO, YOU go see....Screw you I ain't going out there YOU go" They said they got so drunk after watching the door, or what they thought was a person, they passed out in the yard until that morning...lol.
