    Las Vegas Trip

    Hey Everyone...
It has been a while since I have been in here. Things have been busy in my life in the last year. In case you didn't know, I recently got married and we bought our first house.
We are planning our honeymoon right now and we are going to Las Vegas. We will be there June 22 through 26. We would love to hear some suggestions about things to do, places to go, restaurants , should we get a rental car, anything we are forgetting ... and of course if anyone would like to meet one night.
Please let us know any of your suggestions and if there is any chance of one night we can meet some people from here.
Take care. I look forward to hearing from everyone.
    Thanks,
    Tad

    Bye for now.

yes, get a rental car..Cab fares are expensive, and that gives you the freedom to take a day trip to like Hoover Dam if ya get tired of all the people.......Gives you the freedom to Casino Hop...

How many days you going for?

Congrats on your wedding!!! I was just in Vegas the third week in March. I generally go twice a year in Oct and Mar. I have been renting cars and I gave up staying on The Strip cuz the room prices are higher and the crowds are bad even though B.O. has said "Don't go to Vegas.". You will likely pay twice as much for your room on Friday and Saturday night as you will Sun-Thu. I would suggest somewhere like The Orleans (excellent Poker room) or one of the Station Casinos. Room rates are far more reasonable there and you can go to The Strip via rental car. Another good place to stay is downtown on or near Fremont Street. If you plan to see any shows, then be sure to check out the same day ticket outlets where you can often get tickets for half the regular price...here is a link to one of the outfits which sells tickets: Las Vegas Shows - Ticket Discounts - TIX4Tonight

Thanks for all the input already. I guess I forgot to mention this, but we already have a place to stay. We are staying at the Westgate Resort Towers/Planet Hollywood.
I did see the WSOP would be going on during this time Jen, and that was a great addition to the trip for me. My wife is not a big poker or card fan, but she does know I am going to play some poker. She is going to play the slots.
We also want to do other things. She would love to take the helicopter ride over over the Hoover Dam and other attactions. We both would love to see The Blue Man Group. We also want to see other casinos and parts of the strip as well.
I would also love to find some good comic book stores, so if anyone know of any good ones, please let me know.
We both are looking forward to hearing more suggestions and also the possibility of meeting some of you as well.
    Thanks again!

    Bye for now.

If you are a Beatles fan, you should see Love at the Mirage. Its a Cirque show. If you have never seen any Cirqu shows, then probably Mystere at Treasure Island. Its the oldest Cirque show and also has the best deals.

No idea on comic books. I know they are pretty popular here. You are about the 3rd or 4th friend to mention them when coming to town. You should do Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon at the same time. They say the most romantic place to eat and the most proposals are done at the Top of the World. Its the very top of the Stratosphere with views in every direction. Congratulations!!! on all of it!

I love Vegas... and this past November, I stayed and played at The Wynn, among other places. I liked playing there better than any other place.... it could have been because I was winning... but there was just something about the room and environment that I liked. Ohhh, and the company was pretty darn nice too.
