omg , I'm setting here in hell (use to be called kansas lol ) temps have reached 109 today & still climbing....18 days straight of nothing but damn triple digits is NOT my idea of fun !
& due to cutbacks @ Kansas University hubby stands to lose his job of 32yrs...panic is not the word for what I'm feeling right now.....
tried the Ladies freeroll last nite hoping to have some stress relief but man am I ever outta practice ....course cardz just wouldn't come lol..got kicked out the door after 20 min
sooooo what do any of you do to get a break from stuff ??????....I'm tired of rolling around in my "puter" chair & this heat induced coma ! I'm ready to
and for the record I HATE KANSAS !!

Everyday in life is an adventure, and each day brings some ups and downs. I wish your husband luck with his job, and feel hopeful he will hop into a new one quickly if he indeed loses it.

As far as keeping busy.... I run my kids around, I volunteer, I go explore museums and movies I have yet to see... or i drive 3 hours to the river, hop in a tube, and float the day away.

I need a break soooooooo in the worst way.

I catch myself sighing a lot. Kinda funny, I don't realize I am doing it and someone will say, "what's wrong?". Um, nothing. "Why are you sighing?".

I saw an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond once and the Debra kept sighing and Ray said, "Why do you do that?" She said it was like an exhaust valve and if she didn't sigh she would explode. So true.

To be honest, I find a little pampering goes a long way. You don't need to spend a lot of money. Get a deal on a massage or go get your nails done. If the budget doesn't allow for it, go for a drive or to a park at sunset and just allow for some "me" time. I find getting away to de-stress out of my usual environment helps.

Fingers crossed for you and your hubby. 32 years is a very long time, hopefully loyalty counts for something.

Everybody is different, we decided a long time ago if we ended up living in a mobile home with little or nothing in the bank it's all good as long as we have a roof over our head and each other. We never worry about life events we can't do anything about but do a good job planning for the future no matter what it brings, it all boils down to how do you "think" no matter what life hands you.

break? is that possible? sumtimes i dont think it is! BUT-have no complaints, bad as what things may get, as many directions i get pulled in, im still most blessed and very thankful. I manage stress with drinkin a nice cup......or 10 (depending on stress level) of catnip tea! I hope things get better for u hun

would luv a cabin by a lake...no tv, no phones .no constant noise from traffic etc lol
we are still in a wait & see mode here think that's the worst part of this whole thing.
Since the old man is 65 he might just end up being a "wally world greeter ".......oh man I don't even wanna think about that...he'd flunk that job for sure ! lmao

I just looked at this post. I ask why they pick on the ones that have the most experience when they decide to possibly let someone go. It just isn't right as you would think for a successful company, the ones that are most experienced should be the most valuable. Just a thought. As someone who knows what it is like to go through rough times(as I am now). I just say keep your chin up and think positive thoughts. Every day I get a little more stronger and mobile after my skiing accident. I am sure if you do what I do, it will keep you in a better frame of mind. As for the 109 degree temperatures, I say RUN NAKED EVERY DAY
