Ask me anything*

This is a discussion on Ask me anything* within the Luvin's Social Lounge forums, part of the Luvin Poker's Social Lounge category; Thanks, everyone. Would it seem unappreciative if I pointed out that there wasn't a question in any of those, though? ...

And seriously, that picture of Jax is so cute I think I may have sprained my heart.

Not much! It seems I'm at an age where gifts are the exception rather than the rule. Got a couple books and a game. My sis-in-law brought me a piece of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Snickers. Oh my. And then I went out to eat a couple times. So nothing too wild and crazy, but all appreciated and very nice.

Overall, the holiday was pretty good. Delivered some meals for a charity in the morning of Thursday, then napped, then went out to eat. Excellent meal!!! Friday I worked, but left a little early and went to the card club. Lost some money and the table was full of assholes and douchebags...but hey...I was playing, so that was good. Played pretty well, actually. Saturday went out to brunch with some friends, ran into a girl I used to coach in basketball and hadn't seen in over ten years, watched a movie at home, and generally reveled in feeling like it was Sunday and then realizing it was actually Saturday! Then Sunday I went to the card club and won back what I lost Friday and then some...and the table was mostly asshole-and-douchebag-free. So yeah...pretty darn good holiday!

And no, pups got no turkey. But they did get a little larger than usual dinner and a little larger than usual mid-day treat!!!

So, tell me about your Europe trip. Where did you go? What did you like the best?

What a great question!!!! In October, I went to Prague and Budapest for a week each (along with a couple of side trips to places nearby). Adored both of them. We walked and walked and walked and ate and ate and ate and drank and drank and drank (variety of beverages...beers and wine for the other three I was with and lots o' Euro Sodas for me). When I had gone to Italy, one of my greatest anticipations was the food, and I was slightly disappointed on that front. On this trip, my biggest worry was the food and it became my greatest pleasant surprise. And CHEAP!!!

I think I preferred Prague on a micro level. The streets and the shops and the restaurants are all so amazing, and almost make you feel like you're in a pretend world that can't really exist in this day and age. On the other hand, I think I preferred Budapest on the macro level. The grand views along the river and any night scenery was incredible.

I think my favorite thing we did was the baths. Budapest is well known for its bath houses. I'd need much more space and time than I have here to adequately describe it. The short version is that there are pools and tubs of pretty much any temperature and type that you can imagine. Many different saunas and steam rooms, too. So relaxing, so beautiful, so fun.

Awwwwww, the baths sound incredible. Its funny, when I think of traveling I definitely think Rome, Paris, Athens, etc.. Budapest and Prague would not have been on the must go to list, but thanks to you I have googled and sen so much beautiful scenery. I hope I get to see them in person at some point. I know you are "private" in the forums, but it wouldn't kill you to post some scenery pics! (and send me some privately since I've seen the great mystery of you first hand )
