Advice needed please

Hi I am doing some research about the costs of living in NYC, (yes I know it will be high), however, I am getting stuck in a couple of areas.

Could you please give me some advice regarding the following:

Great Internet Provider.
Cell Provider.
Cable TV Provider.

Cell Provider? Don't think you'll have any problems there- break a few windows(not windows2007)

Mike - you know I will support anything you do, but when they say the cost of living is high, it is an understatement. My family had a home in the city for years when I was a kid. I have gone back many times as an adult to visit friends. The truth is, I love it there. I would definitely rather live in NYC over this desert called Vegas I am in. Unless you want to be robbed, injured or possibly worse living in a bad neighborhood that would be cost effective, the cost of living in the city is prohibitive. Perhaps finances are not an issue, in that case - go and enjoy! But, weigh this decision heavily. Phone, internet and TV are definitely the last things to worry about.

I have no idea what provoked this move, perhaps work? If you are going on your own, I would definitely find a roommate and then you won't have to worry about utility type items and you aren't obligated by a long term lease. If you don't mind venturing out a bit, Brooklyn still has some really cute and clean neighborhoods.

I do believe Time Warner is the provider in New York and if it is like all cable companies in the rest of the states, if you package your TV and internet together, it is less expensive.

Not sure about cell phones. I use Verizon and I was really happy until I recently moved, but At&T, T-mobile, etc... are all competitive. You should look at NYC moving guide. Here in Vegas for example, Verizon does not have towers on the end of the strip I live on and it is terrible. When I lived off strip, I had perfect reception. Ask you rneighbors. You can get a phone in an hour anywhere you go.

Mike, I am considering a move out of California and that is huge for me, out of the country would be even bigger. Having said that, I am willing to go and stay some place for a few months to see if it feels right for me. I definitely won't uproot myself until i am completely sure.
