Sorry - I should be more specific.
This player was sitting out in the big blind, I raised to steal his blind, and then he showed up, called my raise, and went on to win the pot.

I see nothing wrong with that

Frequently in the public tournies, I'll play by sitting out, until I get a good hand, then click "I'm back", play it, and sit out again. Allows me to do other things without having to always keep jumping to the screen just to hit fold. Since I'm usually playing MUCH tighter than I do in the private games, it works well for me.
