    Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

    1/2 c. unsalted butter
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sour cream
    3 ripe bananas, mashed
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. crushed banana chips

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 9" cake pan.

    Cream butter with granulated sugar in mixer until creamy and light. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Meanwhile, sift flour with baking powder and set aside.

    At low speed, add bananas and sour cream to butter mixture until nicely blended. Slowly add flour mixture until incorporated. Pour batter into prepared cake pan. In a small mixing bowl, combine chocolate chips, brown sugar and banana chips. Crumble on top of cake batter evenly. Swirl a knife through the batter and topping.

    Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes. Cake is done when top springs back from finger. Serve warn, topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
