Temple Grandin...made for HBO movie and nominated for 15 Primetime Emmys. Superb acting by Claire Danes!!!

Biopic of Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who overcame the limitations imposed on her by her condition to become an expert in the field of animal husbandry. She developed an interest in cattle early in life while spending time at her Aunt and Uncle's ranch. She did not speak until age four and had difficulty right through high school, mostly in dealing with people. Her mother was very supportive as were some of her teachers. She is noted for creating her 'hug box', widely recognized today as a way of relieving stress and her humane design for the treatment of cattle in processing plants, even winning an award from PETA. ^^^Loved it. She was amazing. I posted about it a few pages back. Definitely worth a watch and can probably still be found on HBO on demand to save people a trip to the video store.

The Last Resort

I take back what I said about the Clash of the Titans...THIS was the worst movie ever made. Thank goodness it was only 68 minutes long. It's about 5 girlfriends who go to Mexico, end up at an abandoned resort and start killing each other because of voices in their heads. The movie made absolutely no sense and gave zero explanation as to why this was happening. Couple that with absolutely horrible acting that would insult an audience watching a 5th grade play, and you got yourself one of the worst movies ever made...

Today in San Antonio i went to see "Switch" with Brian and Kellie, it was a very cute movie. I loved the little boy.

So, its a Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland marathon on TCM tonight. First it was Babes in Arms, now Strike Up The Band. Gonna be a long night.

I saw City Island and thought it was just ok. I love Andy Garcia, but his accent drove me a bit nuts.

I recently saw Going the Distance.... and loved it. It was amusing and quirky, and fun, and all in all two big thumbs up.
