my idea of God? That's a pretty loaded question.... with some serious implications behind it.

First off: my "idea" of God is not an idea. To me, it's a fact. (now, don't get all technical on me... I said "to me". To me... it's a fact. So, you can't argue with me over it being an "idea" just because others don't believe it. It may be an "idea" to some.... but not to me).

With that being said.....

In a nutshell: God is God. And by being God, he can do whatever the hell he wants without giving any explanation to anyone. I know that my human brain can't fathom all that God is or even begin to understand how he works or why he does he what he does. I love the saying "The Lord works in mysterious ways". I just have faith .... and that faith is based on true personal experiences. God is .......... the father of my savior, Jesus. God is.... everlasting life. In a nutshell.... of course.

I don't care who disagrees with me. I didn't come in here to preach to anyone. These are my views, and they will never change (so don't try). That's not being close-minded, it's called having faith and truly believing the principles that come with it.

Nicci I respect your post fyi. My family is Catholic and my sister joined a more modern christian church with a band etc. It is called Eaglebrook. There are a few of them in MN and am not sure about the rest of the country. The church has a coffee shop and Sunday daycare-Sunday school, with all the kids split up by ages. I went with her 2x but just wasn't feeling it at all. I can tell shes shocked when I tell her I feel nothing different going to Eaglebrook compared to our catholic church, for I feel both are a waste of a hour. In the past she has tried to talk to me and send me a few emails regarding religion. I honestly believe she thinks I'm doomed, if I don't start going to church and having faith. lol

I really don't want to get into this but will. The bible says he created 2 in his image. Put two cats in a room and keep feeding and giving them water.. Besides a smelly mess after awhile when you open the door you will find MANY deformed cats from inbreeding. As this continues more and more will be born deformed. I have saw this first hand in a barn. They will have NO genetic difference either. Humans have genetic difference which imo already disproves the ridiculous story of Adam and Eve from the bible. As I said before I will never say there is not a higher power. But if there is imo it is more of a energy that powers the universe and this energy cannot make conscience decisions regarding anything. I do not believe this possible energy is the God everyone believes in from the bible. As you know I think the bible is nonsense and proof of life elsewhere will discredit it. Although after all that happens people will try to change the bible so it makes sense. This is just my opinion of course. You can have the last post after this also. We have went round and round about this in a previous thread and I don't think it will get us any closer to agreeing, if we debate this again. xo

Isn't Niccivan right in believing that just because we are unable to see and touch something doesn't mean to say it doesn't exist?

What you have to remember Ezz that the Bible was compiled nearly 1900 years ago (and some of the books written centuries older). Look at a tv, record player etc of 50 years ago and they look ridiculous. Yes it is possible to pick holes in the Bible but God is not confined to a book.
