Twenty-six pregnancies have been aborted in the past nine years because babies would have been born with cleft lips or palates, according to figures released yesterday after a High Court ruling.

My views on abortion aren't inflexible, the full article gives details of other abortions to which I'd feel sympathetic but to me this is mainly cosmetic and can be operated on. If people decide they don't want a child who's not 'perfect' should they be allowed to have children?

^^^That is absolutely disgusting!! One of my best friends and co-workers was born with a cleft palate and to think her parents could have had an abortion based on that is DISGUSTING!!! It's purely cosmetic and can be fixed with little scaring. Absolute morons who think they can take a life based on looks, or for any other reason for that matter.

Prosecutors will seek the death penalty if Casey Anthony, 25, is found guilty of first-degree murder in the June 16, 2008, death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Casey, who has been in jail for almost three years as she awaited and then stood trial, chose not to testify on her own behalf.
She also is charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
Prosecutors say Casey smothered Caylee with duct tape, drove around for several days with Caylee's body in her car trunk and then dumped the remains in woods near the Anthony family home.
Casey initially told detectives Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny, triggering a nationwide search that ended on December 11, 2008. That's when Caylee's skeletal remains were found in woods near the Anthony family home with duct tape dangling from her skull.

Caylee Anthony was reported missing to the Orange County Sheriff's Office on July 15, 2008, by her grandmother, Cindy. During the same call, Casey Anthony acknowledged to the 911 operator that Caylee had been missing "for 31 days." A distraught Cindy also told the 911 operator "There is something wrong. I found my daughter's car today and it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car."

Your 2 yr old daughter is missing for 31 days, and you don't report it? guilty of murder or not, Definitely someone who should NOT have kids.
