RIP Tony Curtis
Most of you are probably far too young to remember legendary actor Tony Curtis. I've known Tony my entire life. It is a sad day. He lived a very full life. I remember the last time I saw him a couple of years ago at one of his art shows here in Vegas. He had tremendous passion for painting. His wife Jill runs a horse sanctuary where I used to spend much of my time rescuing horses from the slaughterhouse. My dad grew up with Tony and has known him over 65 years.
In any case, he was 85. He had a wonderful life and career and lots of people who loved him. If you aren't familiar with his work, you should do yourself a favor and take a peek at one of so many classics. My first and favorite introduction to Mr. Curtis was in "Some Like it Hot" with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe. I was just a kid and was so tickled because he dressed in drag! (Its also simply stated, hilarious!) There are countless others: "The Defiant Ones", "Spartacus" and "The Sweet Smell of Success" to name a few.
I am thankful he passed in his sleep. Rest in Peace Mr. Curtis.
