Call him a moron or a bo-bo Doug those are the insults he thinks are clever, insults that are too subtle for his addled brain to comprehend are dismissed as 'rubbish'.

actually i don't care what he thinks of my comments. i just don't get the hostility, and don't understand why it's not possible to disagree in a civilized manner without the putdowns. i bet lucas does not even remember what started my negative view of him. (it had nothing to do with me btw)

    Why are liberals so condescending?

Every political community includes some members who insist that their side has all the answers and that their adversaries are idiots. But American liberals, to a degree far surpassing conservatives, appear committed to the proposition that their views are correct, self-evident, and based on fact and reason, while conservative positions are not just wrong but illegitimate, ideological and unworthy of serious consideration. Indeed, all the appeals to bipartisanship notwithstanding, President Obama and other leading liberal voices have joined in a chorus of intellectual condescension.
This condescension is part of a liberal tradition that for generations has impoverished American debates over the economy, society and the functions of government -- and threatens to do so again today, when dialogue would be more valuable than ever.

Liberals have dismissed conservative thinking for decades, a tendency encapsulated by Lionel Trilling's 1950 remark that conservatives do not "express themselves in ideas but only in action or in irritable mental gestures which seek to resemble ideas."
interesting article, and it certainlt is evident here.

Reasonable enough.....now just add that saying: no, no, no to every fucking thing is further proof of: "conservative positions are not just wrong but illegitimate, ideological and unworthy of serious consideration."

Lucas will now go quiet for a bit as he has in other posts where he was shouting his mouth off but has now clammed up. Doug, if you could only grasp the vagarisms of atristic temprament, the eccentricity that talent produces; you would be so much wiser.

Probably, but you nor Mr. Fair Play would know where to start.

It is an alt. spelling of temperamental, sams as gage is alt.(but little used)spelling of gauge. Flare and flair have 2 diff meanings. Also, due to the fact I'm a temp 'cripple' (as you like to taunt me)I make occasional spelling mistakes.
