No, he definitely "sold" himself on well written speeches and visions of vague hope. I'm not saying he can't make some changes for the positive. I'm just saying he schmoozed everyone with his slick words and most bought into him. Well done. That is the point: to win. He succeeded.
I'm not stubborn. I'm realistic. I know the state in which we find ourselves in, and the "change" that he so vaguely spoke about is nowhere near what the American perception was. People thought, and some still think, that he is going to miraculously make everything better. I'm realistic in that I don't think that will happen during his term as President. If at all, it will be toward the very end and people will be so disappointed with what they saw, he won't be serving a 2nd term.
As far as him being "real", he is as "real" as every other lying politician. I don't trust any of them as far as I can throw them. Just because Obama is a smooth talker and says the things you want to hear, doesn't mean he isn't feeding you a bunch of bologna.
