Ok...I know you will ask me to stop with the 'YAS' thing.... I might!!
No, he definitely "sold" himself on well written speeches and visions of vague hope. I'm not saying he can't make some changes for the positive. I'm just saying he schmoozed everyone with his slick words and most bought into him. Well done. That is the point: to win. He succeeded.

I'm not stubborn. I'm realistic. I know the state in which we find ourselves in, and the "change" that he so vaguely spoke about is nowhere near what the American perception was. People thought, and some still think, that he is going to miraculously make everything better. I'm realistic in that I don't think that will happen during his term as President. If at all, it will be toward the very end and people will be so disappointed with what they saw, he won't be serving a 2nd term.

As far as him being "real", he is as "real" as every other lying politician. I don't trust any of them as far as I can throw them. Just because Obama is a smooth talker and says the things you want to hear, doesn't mean he isn't feeding you a bunch of bologna.

A question for Obamanoids... as everyone knows the so called "intel" that lead the US and Britain to invade Iraq, oh yeah and occupy her was false.

This false intel has resulted in hundreds of British troops and thousands of brave US troops giving up their lives, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of perished Iraqi civilians.

Now the "other party" is in power and given that Obama is a nice fair man with change on his mind, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect those responsible for pedaling this false intel to be investigated and possibly tried for criminal negligence.

Or is it just another silly oopsy mistake we should sweep under the carpet?

I don't think that he could legally do that if he wanted do. Not his jurisdiction.

It's a perfectly good question Greg, maybe its the answer you don't like. The answer obviously is No.

I find it incredibly frustrating when perfectly valid points are made in this forum only to be shot down with made up nonsense, or met with embarrasing silence .

Of course the President of the USA has the jurisdiction to set up investigations into criminal wrong doings/ oopsy mistakes. A two year old would know that!

But Obama will do nothing about the Torture, the illegal War, the Patriot Act, illegal wire tapping etc etc, no one will be held accountable. Aren't alarm bells ringing, or are you in a total state of denial??

Um, actually the President is completely powerless to do that. He can make a national issue out of it, complain, and drop sound bites to the press, but any case like that would have to be tried in a military tribunal. That whole balance of power thing.

Again I didn't sugest he should personally preside over a criminal court case wearing a fucking grey wig, I said he should have the previous admin investigated

    Tuesday, February 10, 2009

President Barack Obama said he will “take a look” at a proposal to investigate former Bush administration officials as part of a “truth and reconciliation commission”

So Obama's must be a liar because spaceboy has decreed its not in the Presidents jurisdiction!

PS he might be looking at it but he wont be doing it, because as you will learn in time he is following the very same illegal policies.

Again, he can vocally issue his public support, but that's about it. Chances are, it would be political suicide anyway.
