    Jade Goody (27) dies

Jade Goody Dies: Her Story - Reality TV, TV shows, Big Brother | MSN TV UK | MSN Entertainment | MSN UK

Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody was born on June 5, 1981. She died on March 22, 2009.

Jade Goody, the biggest star to emerge from Big Brother, has died after losing her much-publicised fight with cancer...

    Post-Big Brother
Easily the UK's most successful Reality TV star, Jade amassed a fortune of several million pounds from the release of her own fragrances, autobiographies and fitness DVDs. She was a perennial fixture in celeb magazines such as Heat, Now, New!, Star, Closer and OK!, not to mention appearances on TV programmes including Celebrity Driving School, Celebrity Wife Swap, Back to Reality, Jade's Salon, Just Jade, Jade's PA and Jade. A shrewd self-publicist, she kept herself firmly in the spotlight years after most Big Brother winners and losers have had their five minutes, let alone 15.
She leaves her new husband and two sons (5 & 4)

    RIP

Ya know, I never knew who she was until recently. I read quite a bit about her. She showed amazing courage and strength. Wonderful attitude.

Don't wish that on anyone, but when the PM starts leading condolences, you gotta question why the distraction. I mean she was a racist, ultra dimwit with no redeeming qualities at all. At least she's helped raise awareness of cervical cancer but she had no choice in that. Oh well hopefully the media will fotget soon, so people that we really should celebrate can be noticed and important issues back on the front page.

Have to admit I'd never seen her on TV. I read somewhere that people who smoke heavily are more likely to suffer from cervical cancer and that in this case not being emphasised enough. I haven't googled this but sure NN will enlighten us.

No matter who she was, or what she was, you have to feel for her and her young family. To die so young is always heartbreaking.

I am shocked and thoroughly disappointed you saying that

She admitted her mistakes and accepted her actions would be perceived as racist but denied being racist, hence her appearance on big brother India.
As for dimwit... I disagree. She wasn't the most intelligent of people but she knew how to capture media attention and use it to her advantage.

She was a normal, down to earth girl and like marmite, you loved or hated her. Actually, she did have a choice in raising awareness. She could have decided after she was diagnosed, to hide away from the media and kept herself private. Yes, granted she went very public to raise money to support her children and bloody good on her.

She has campaigned to get the government to review the age that young girls go for smear tests. As a young female of 23 myself, I am unable to get a smear test. I have to wait until I am 25 because that is currently the law despite the fact I have several gynaecological issues.

Who would you rather see on the front page of newspapers? A footballer cheating on his pop star wife, a footballer spitting at another or a woman who is trying to save the lives of people who may be in her position. I know which one I would rather see.

You're unable to get a smear test??? wtf?? Is that the law or something?

I thought the general rule of thumb was once you're sexually active you SHOULD have a smear test every 2 yrs at least! I've had issues from my early 20's, if that applied here, I could have died by now!

They've introduced a cervical cancer vaccination for young women here in Australia, it's free for any woman up to 26yrs of age. I wish it had been around when I was in my twenties. I have to be tested every 12mths at least, sometimes I only go 6mths between tests. Been clear for 10yrs now, fingers crossed it lasts forever!

She was younger than my oldest daughter...to be her parents must be excruciating. So sorry for her family.

P.S. Was she the asian girl that "hosted" Big Brother? I'm sorry I'm not sure who she was, just trying to place her.
