I agree, "war is fucked up", and I don't have the answers. However, what I see is God's "chosen people", trying to justify the taking of inocent lives.

Who is innocent? You are looking at the Middle East through western eyes and opinions. As Doug pointed out these people don't pay lip service to 'life after death' they think they'll be treated better in paradise if they die for 'allah'. (the imams have neglected to tell them that paradise has run out of virgins).

I understand that killing hostages to get to the bad guys is wrong, but what's the Israeli alternative?

"Wow, Menachem... these rocket attacks keep on raining down on our civilians! I which we could defend ourselves, but they place the rocket launcher on top of buildings full of children, so I guess we'll just deal. Hey, there's another one... it totally hit that bus!"

All I know is that if the Hamas terrorists don't launch rockets into Southern Israel, nobody gets hurt.

I also can't understand the mindset of these terrorists. How the hell do you wake up every day with this as your primary motivation?

Do you roll out of bed and be like, "Looks like a great morning for a suicide bombing!"? Or is it more like my life where your alarm clock goes off and I'm like, "I can't believe it's 6:00 AM already. I which these business meetings [rocket attacks on people we've never met] could start later. Dude, all I want to do is sleep... I am so tired."

As I said... I don't have the answer to that question either, but I don't believe that killing innocent people is the answer. Or acceptable!

Well, I do know that any modern study of ethics does NOT require you to martyr yourself. The Israelis just allowing themselves to be murdered in unanswered rocket attacks just because the bastard terrorists use children as human shields isn't morally acceptable either.
