i'm not sure what good this would do right now. i can't see Obama completely turning his back on Isreal (although that would not surprise me in the least) right now and legally we cannot offer Hamas any financial or foreign aid without repealing a law passed in 2006.

The two weeks since Israel began its military campaign against Gaza have heightened anticipation about how Obama intends to deal with the Middle East. He adopted a strongly pro-Israel position during the election campaign, as did his erstwhile opponent and choice for secretary of state, Hillary Clinton. But it is widely thought Obama would adopt a more even-handed approach once he is president.

the days of the US "pulling the strings" and keeping Isreal in check in the Middle East are quickly coming to an end. it was our staunch support of Isreal which kept the Middle East from literally melting down for many years. since our support of Isreal will wane IMO over the next two to four years our wishes will mean less and less to the Isreali government, opening the door for a huge explosion.

in the end i see Hamas, Iran and most of the Arab states getting exactly what they want, an end to the state of Isreal. unfortunately for them the Isrealis are going to take most of them along for the ride, probably in a few big mushroom clouds of destruction.

Yes it's something that would take time. Rascism is still very much alive and well in this country, but with each new generation it dimminishes just a little, as we learn to live together. A reference amost religious people may recognize... "It only takes a spark to get a fire going".
