... John works at the Cargill plant in Eddyville, Iowa, when he's not in Iraq . Wouldn't it be fitting if this went completely around the world!..... This needs to make headline news...not some of the other junk that makes the news these days!!! Like the Rosie O'Donell war of words...celeb weddings...who's not wearing undies...etc. It's a tough, but heartwarming story...with a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq.



John Gebhardt's wife, Mindy, said that this little girl's entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head...but they failed to kill her.. She was cared for in John's hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is one of the real heroes of the war, and represents what America is trying to do. This, my friends, is worth sharing. Go for it!! You'll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. Nothing will happen if you don't, but the American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we're doing over there IS making a difference. Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

Old Mav realizes exactly those that have the guns have the guns alas they enjoy killing innocent un related people to whut the fighting the war is all about the weakest village the weakest family the weakest person whutever and so so on alas old Mav realizes it is a shame butt then the wealthy rich who have the power r that way manner they have the guns alas luckily they do no not exactly know how to wage war with any thing butt suicide bombers other wise American losses would be a lotta higher butt then every loss casualty hurts and so old Mav realizes though the wounded injured no not never complain they r so cared for and so whutever they r they r sure cared for alas though at times the wealthy rich do falter neglect alocate less whutever and so than they should we pay for it and so Iowa it figures it would a soldier from Iowa the propaganda of it all alas old Mav realizes a noble deed butt still propaganda that keeps a corrupt system government organization whutever and so in power alas old Mav realizes old Mav is exactly surounded by exactly the same thing alas these people are no not worth dieing for and or being wounded injured for if they do no not wanna protect themselfs alas thus they getta exactly whut they deserve for no not protecting themselfs butt alas they have money muscle brains and so plenty of them alas old Mav does no not and so old Mav realizes old Mav needs a miracle and so as in Viet Nam all done in the name of honor butt that is exactly just only a word for propagandists honor and so of course old Mav has to apologize so sorry for this statement comment chating posting whutever and so for suggesting any body is a racist sorry right... sorry old Mav

I wholeheartedly agree that this makes John Gebhardt a "HERO" in more ways than one. This is a very touching story of humanity.


However...

I understand that Gat likes to repost emails in here that she deems poignant, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just so long as people realize that this email/story is at least 3 years old now. You can tell by the "headlines" that were quoted. It's not like it just happened.

I believe(and this is just my opinion) that going into Iraq in the first place was a huge mistake, and I have since day one. I believe that "W" had an agenda to do so before he even took office, and fumbled the ball that he should've been carrying. We should've stayed strong in Afghanistan and tracked down Bin Laden, the real culprit behind 9/11, not Iraq. However, so many years later, the trail's gone cold and we're now fighting a losing battle. This has now turned into a new Vietnam, and we need to get out now.

I don't like it when they say that they need more "troops".

Troops.

Say it... Troops. Sounds very impersonal don't it?

We need to remember that these "troops" are living, breathing, flesh and blood human beings(at least they are for now). These aren't just numbers that we're sending off to a possible horrendous death. These are sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles... Americans. Remember that next time one of them makes the "ultimate sacrifice". It's not just another "number" added to the casualty list, it's a human life... lost forever.
