Hillary Clinton's former top aide latest Democrat to criticise Barack Obama

Hillary Clinton's former top aide latest Democrat to criticise Barack Obama
A former top strategist to Hillary Clinton has added his voice to a growing chorus of Democratic criticism of President Barack Obama, arguing that he is moving too far to the Left when he "should be claiming the vital centre, not abandoning it".

Mark Penn, who was Mrs Clinton's chief strategist for most of her presidential campaign after previously being a senior aide to her husband President Bill Clinton, accused Mr Obama of having "wandered into the thicket of class warfare".

His intervention came after a speech on Monday in which Mr Obama advocated raising $1.5 trillion in taxes, mainly on high earners, over the next decade. This was widely interpreted as a repositioning to the Left and was broadly welcomed by liberal activists and groups.

In an article for the Huffington Post website, Mr Penn wrote: "Barack Obama is careering down the wrong path towards re-election. He should be working as a president, not a candidate. He should be claiming the vital centre, not abandoning it.

"He should be holding down taxes rather than raising them. He should be mastering the global economy, not running away from it. And most of all, he should be bringing the country together rather than dividing it through class warfare."
    Telegraph

His comments came after high-profile criticism of Mr Obama from James Carville, another former top Clinton aide, who said last week that the President should "panic" after the Democrats lost a previously safe congressional seat in New York.

I seriously doubt Clinton would run against Obama. She's pretty happy where she is, I think. Mrs. Bill Clinton may have her faults, but she realizes that unfucking this country isn't something she wants to try. However, I do see her trying to pull the same trick her husband did. i.e. Step into office and stand on the shoulder's of the Republicans that came before her.

If the Republicans take the White House in 2012, like Reagan following up Carter, they will put forth economic policies that won't fully pay off in the short term. However, ten to fifteen years down the line everything falls into place and starts REALLY booming. Her husband got credit for the internet boom, which was made possible by Reagan policies, and she'll try to get elected in 2016 and take credit for the next boom.

Hell no. Staunch Dems are too entrenched to jump that ship. Besides. It won't matter if Dem, or a Rep get the WH, because they are both sold out and playing the same game with the same masters, and it sure as hell ain't you, me, libs, conservs, soldiers, veterans, grandma, grandpa, your kids, nor your kids kids. Their masters are corporate and banking interests, regardless of their party.

I get it!! Sort of like Obama is taking credit for the Bush boom? Ok, the trade towers collapsed, so we did have ONE boom during the Bush administration.
