liberal = using information to reach the wrong conclusions.

in all seriousness, there are plenty of informed and uninformed people on both sides. plenty of bad conclusions too. not to mention liars and cheats.

i have just one question for the liberals who constantly attack the rich. where does the money come from to pay for all those programs you want to expand or create?? do you know what percentage of tax revenue is paid by the top 10% of earners?? yet you want to go after the wealthy and over time diminish their numbers/wealth. attack the revenue source, all the while expanding programs. does that seem like a responsible thing to do??

like it or not, especially now, everything comes down to the simple question, can we afford it??

all the fuzzy math projections in the world do not justify expanding government expenditures. i hope we all know that our government is very good at spending money it does not have. this means there will be higher taxes and more forign debt. i don't know about you, but in my world the first thing you do when you have dug yourself into a hole is stop digging. anyone who thinks digging faster is the answer is simply wrong.

i'm sorry but the first question to ask about any program, including health care, is this: can we afford it? no fuzzy math allowed. if the answer is no, then there is no need for additional debate.

so, liberal = i want this even if i can't afford it

and i'm not saying at all that the tax the rich plan is aimed at only conservative rich...just that it is a short sighted plan. all of life is about balance, and even though the balancing point is ever changing, fiscal responsibility is necessary. huge expansion of government has to be paid for. it's either more debt (bad for the economy) or higher taxes (bad for the economy) the hole is deep enough, we don't need to keep digging.

    Back to the same-old argument.

Here is a place for you to move to and reep the benifits of a tax haven. Or try Ireland I hear or heard they tried the no tax thing for busisness and failed however try this.

    Canada
I wouldn't have considered Canada as a tax haven, and I would guess that Canadians would agree with me on that! However, I have been informed "Canada lets you set up a 5 year immigrant trust which is tax free. This basically means that you can move to Canada and, provided you have money, investments or a business already in place, you can set up an immigrant trust and be tax free for 5 years (on all money other than earned in Canada). Because it takes 3 years to become a citizen you can actually get 5 years tax free and change nationality and leave before you get taxed. Once you leave - you remain Canadian but you are not taxable in Canada. Canadians get special treatment on living / working in USA." ... Interesting? See a tax adviser! Plus, although Canada is often regarded as a nice place, with plenty of open space and fresh air, not everyone likes it.
If this doesn't work why don't you move to one of the other non tax countries like Costa-Rica.

are you really this dense?? i don't hear anybody saying taxes should be eliminated. the point is this - no matter how much revenue the government has IT IS NEVER ENOUGH!!! at some point you have to draw a line in the sand and say, no more. we have gone past the point of balance, and your solution is to go even further?? brilliant.

Absolutely. And as it stands, no line is in sight. We keep getting closer to that point of no return. Does that point really exist? If it does, I say we are soon to find it. I feel bad for my children and future grandchildren. I fear for what they may have to live with.... if it stays on course, it won't be pretty.
