They call the woman brave? She hit the man holding a gun with her purse. Sorry, to me thats, insane and shes lucky she wasn't killed.

Is the guy such a bad shot he missed every one or was he just trying to scare everyone? Admittedly, I have not researched the story and just saw the video at the end of the news and googled it. Still - 40 seconds into the video I'm looking at this "brave woman" like she is a moron.

jen, someone has to step in. spend a week in may bar and you will understand. we have very few actual fights, but lots of verbal confrontations that we diffuse. by "we" i mean both the 4 ex military guys on staff and me. i'm not a threat to anyone, but that works in my favor. (along with owning the bar) there is just no hesitation when it comes to protecting patrons or the bar. the woman who smacked the guy with her purse had the same mindset. do what is necessary, no matter the consequences the alternative is unacceptable.

I agree, that is how heroes are born. I merely suggest she use a hammer, baseball bat from the gym, or an axe. Little lady with purse is not going to stop a gunman.

She says she wasn't thinking. She's been asked several times what in the world was she thinking, and her response is she can't answer the question. She just knew someone had to do something. This was in my area. Although it's not in my county, it's in the county next to me.

Some people just react...or don't...did you notice how long it took for the first school board member to duck behind the table? Sad to say, but we all must be prepared for the possibility of being confronted by a nut with a gun. I own some myself and if I were not carrying one in this instance my plan is to quickly (run) leave the immediate area of the nut with a gun at my earliest convenience. I may still get shot, but he will have to hit a moving target and I might have to take a bullet in the ass...I refuse to be shot in the back of the head execution style.

The real solution here is to repeal all of our stupid fascist gun control laws! Let's see him try that when everybody in the room has another gun!!!
