You presume to talk for me? As indicated by the above comment you do not seem to have the wherewithal to fully grasp my intentions.

So kindly keep to your own regular ...ummm...erm.... soft or otherwise
limited observations without expressing what you suppose Lucas thinks.

Now... is that clear enough? Did you understand the entire request or
do we need to deconstruct it so, by going step by step, we can go at your speed until
you finally grasp it? I have patience if you have the will to learn.

remember, just because i believe something, or lucas believes something that does not make it so.
I haven't gone there yet because it seems to be the link to the original
point of contention. I remember that one.

I thought you were going to provide the link where you explained
your insensitivity. I await your response before wasting my time.

you did not express it in any other way.....you reinforced the premise of murder.

These embryos are being trashed or they are being used for research.

There IS a difference between Embryonic and adult stem cells.

Where the adult stem cells are generally limited to differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of origin, embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body.

OK, this is where I feel that I must clarify myself by saying, "in my opinion"...

IMO, something created in a laboratory* is not human life, because it can't sustain itself without a human host.

IMO, it isn't life until it's inside a womb.

Keep in mind, that's just my opinion.

Now I realize it's still in the "research" stage, but it offers a vast ammount of HOPE(damn, there's that word again), to those that have none.

    * Human embryonic stem cells are isolated by transferring the inner cell mass into a plastic laboratory culture dish that contains a nutrient broth known as culture medium. The cells divide and spread over the surface of the dish.

i disagree about the apples and oranges. when you discuss ends justifying means, what you are essentially speaking about is the needs of the many vs. the needs of the few.

stem cell research IMO (there ya go Nickers!) will have very long term and far reaching benefits. as a smoker i like the thought of growing new lungs one day. in this case, like in many cases, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (i hope my Catholic priest isn't reading this).

the same can be applied to dealing with militant terrorists. if i need to shit on a Koran or two, blast some loud music 24 hours a day, or dunk a head (sans towel) in a toilet to get info that could save thousands of innocent lives then dammit i'm doing it. if i am a war-monger, torturer, right wing neo-con so be it but the lives i am saving are conservative and liberal alike. just like the lives that will be saved with stem cell research.

cudos to President Obama (notice i did not wOOt him) for wanting to save lives thru this research. but damn B. Hussein Obama for taking it easy on uncivilized, terrorist pigs who deseve every negative thing they get and then some.
