i think the effect of increased life span on cancer rates was dismissed without due consideration. not saying we have not vastly increased rates of cancer due to the modern lifestyle, but longer lives means more accumulated exposure to both natural and unnatural causes of cancer.

I never had any doubts.
yes, but our success as a species is to blame....were are not dying from hunting large game with spears, starvation, other deseases, and we likely are killing each other much less.....
and the starving people we have left,like in the charity ads rarely have cancer....HIV, but not cancer
lets go back to living in caves and starving part of the time, just to beat cancer.... and sure diet and excercise help, but environmental contamination is ongoing with our success
