    Bible Mistranslated?

    Researchers Prove Bible Grossly Mistranslated
    Source

    May 23, 2011 | radisson, Saskatchewan

iReport — A research group in Canada, has proved that the Old Testement has been massively mistranslated.
This follows three years of research, which have uncovered the actual system for translating ancient Hebrew.
The group discovered that each letter is not a letter at all, but a full word, and what was believed to be a word, is actually a sentence like description, which supplies the definition of the word. With this discovery, each word can now be properly defined and the results are astounding.
This means a word can no longer be disputed and swayed by doctrinal pressures
If accurate, the findings will rewrite everything we presently believe about the scriptual beginnings of the Earth.
Research Head Christopher Tyreman states that what they have found, proves without a doubt, that the Bible has been grossly mistranslated and that their findings expose this fact with glaring simplicity. He further stated that he finds it interesting that a group of lay researchers were able to see and assemble what they call "Self Defining Hebrew or the SDH System" while experts seemed unaware of its existence.
The team also wished people to understand that this is not a bible code, but the system the original language was built on.
Its construct shows it to be a manufactured system of massive complexity, using only twenty words, which when mixed, can supply a complete language.
Mr. Tyreman also added that the form of this language shows it could not have evolved from surrounding cultures as it is incapable of importing words from outside language. This alone points to an origination outside of the scope of the presently held theories of language development. These findings could have a major impact on how Science and religion look at our beginnings.

The research team has posted all of its work online @ www.thechronicleproject.org

The above article is not vetted/fact checked by CNN, but regardless it is interesting information. I read the bible (King James & Good News) twice cover to cover in my late 20's. I spent a few years studying other religions and came to appreciate paganism, but embraced atheism as my base view and have been at peace with my decision every since. Although, some days I still consider myself a pagan scented atheist. A pathiest perhaps? lol

Really wouldn't have ever considered reading the christian bible again, but am intrigued by this groups findings/claims, so will likely spend some time with it when I have the time.

I was pretty young when I figured that the "King James Version" bible was not literal text but some white dude's interpretation coupled with his own agenda. I don't take from the bible anything literal, and very little of it as historically accurate. I do believe there are lessons in there for everyone, who have the understanding that they are lessons.

So much of the Old Testament can be paralleled to circumstances in our century, it's pretty hard to just up and dismiss it altogether. But I don't swear on it or by it, nor do I worship any god (well, Ivey, but . . . ), but I don't take any issue with those that do. I don't fear religion, though some zealots do worry me a bit.

I wonder if they will come up with a new version now

Interesting. Not that I believe anything at this point, but certainly interesting.

If I have learned one thing over this last month of my absence, I have learned that without God (as I/we each understand him), I would be nothing. So, if some things in the Bible are misinterpreted (which I don't think, but hey, go ahead and prove it.... I'm all ears), then it wouldn't change the ideas behind the New Testament and the promises they hold.

Maybe some things are misinterpreted, I agree with you, I don't think so, but who would really know the facts, other than Moab ?

the problem is much larger than difficult translation.
what matters most in life is honesty. it's never wrong to do the right thing.
