When Play Chips Become Something More.

When I started playing online poker, it was all for fun. I had no cash to gamble with, so I started amassing play chips, just as an ego boost.

When I had the ability to actually deposit some money, I was very careful, but refining my online game. Starting at the $300, I would play in these games during lunch, just using the Pokah! forum to chit chat.

When Congress shoved their noses into our business and disallowed deposits from the US into Poker sites, I just started playing a lot of freeroll tournaments. Playing these massive 5,000/8,000/12,000 player tourneys. Cost 300 free chips, Whee! I won one of these massive tourneys of 11,000 people (Yes, 1st place) and won about 650,000 in free chips, which is fun to look at in your funny money account, because, honestly, it's not worth anything, right?

Or, is it?

Last year, I had a (prop) bet with my brother to see who could get to $2,000,000 in play chips first, no rules, except you could not really play during work hours, because I could not play poker at work at the time. We left exactly $500,000 in play chips in our main accounts and dumped the rest in our secondary accounts, so we were both starting even. We played well, playing the 25,000 Play Money SnG tourneys, and bumped up to 50,000 in play money soon enough.

I won the prop bet, and was in a tourney talking to someone about my prop bet with my brother, when someone asked my how much in play money I had.

"About $6 or $7 million. Why?"

"A friend of mine just started this site. He can buy your play chips for cash."

"That's ridiculous. How is that?"

"Sponsors, working with the sites to get traffic on them. Bottom line is: He will pay you for your play chips."

Something smalled fishy, so I contacted the website, and sure enough, they seemed legit. After talking with the guy via chat, I transferred $2,000,000 in play chips. Within 5 minutes, my PokerStars account was credited with $20 cash. All he asked was that I spread the word.

Well, here I am, spreading the work. I have cashed in over $7 million in play money for myself, and family members who did not have the requisite 1 million in play money to transfer.

It's a great no-risk way to try and start bankroll. No upfront money, all you need is the starting play money to get into some high buy-in games. If you do not have the play chips, ask a friend. I've loaned out over $6 million in play chips to help family and friends start their bankrolls. (Granted, my sister donked off about $3.5 million of chips I have given her. Bitch!)

I will not post the site info here. I will not do that to Jen and Kyle. If you want the information, I can give it to you.

Now, the next time you are in a play money tourney, and someone says "What does it matter? It's only play money!", you will know better.

Won't you?
