had an opportunity to see Mike last week and with such clarity I couldn't believe that I had ... I said to him:

"I don't miss being married to you, I don't miss living with you, I don't miss being looked at like I just irritate the hell out of you, I don't miss being told I was an embarassment to you, I don't miss being aftraid of you, I don't miss being afraid to say something that will make you mad, I don't miss being shushed when you think I laugh to loud." What I do miss is my friend that I grew up with and the friendship we shared in between all of those times. But I like myself to much today to allow anyone to treat me the way you did.

I cried all the way through it, but to have such clarity and to be able to string all of those thoughts together and actually say them to him was a miracle.
