I wish I could summarize how I felt about this election. I am grateful to this forum and all the activity in the pit. This is without a doubt the most informed I have ever been during an election. The many threads in the pit (albeit some ridiculous) inspired me to become more knowledgeable about both candidates and their policies.

I actually went to my first rally and volunteered in my community. I never understood how people could get so worked up and have such passion about politics until now.

This election also taught me tolerance as I learned to respect everyone has a right to their opinions. I watched tempers flare and even the most soft spoken of members become participants. It was and remains completely fascinating to me. The question is, are people's minds already made up or are they actually open to the discussion to the point where they can be influenced?

One last thing...from my point of view, the actual people debating in the threads may not have any direct influence on each other, but I have received massive amounts of pms from lurkers and members who are not quite so outspoken. When you think no one is listening. Think again.
